I did pickup A micro adjustable, set of match dies from the used discount table. Others will pick some components and jump right in. A lot of shooters will test with factory ammo before hand loading. So, hand loading experience might be helpful. I have found a rifle will often have a preference for a certain bullet. And, I think that is all that has been suggested unless I missed read a post. You asked for suggestions for "factory loads" - which means ammunition, not components/bullets- yet, you're getting suggestions for particular bullets as though this is a hand loading discussion. (edit the box says VMAX, the bullets are red plastic tipped) They could over lap to form a 10 shot 1.25 group. Hornady 55 Polymer Tip shot two 5 shot groups 1.1" and 1.25". Surprisingly consistent and disappointing. All ammo tested was 223 Remington: Fiocci 55 fmj. Results to date are 2" to 3", 5 shot groups at 100 yards and none will AVERAGE any better than 2 1/2 moa, or WORSE. I like to get some general as possible recommendations, while I will go ahead and share my results to date. I been test firing my ar assembly and like to ask suggestions for some better factory loads to experiment with. ![]()
